10 Steps to Humanize your Content
Dear Lovely Business Owner,
I’ve created a lovely little graphic, (below!!) which took me much longer than I care to admit,( er nearly a day?!! ) so rather longer than my earlier attempt.. We all have our shortcomings, and one of mine is all things v technical… At least I perserved.. hey? 🙂
Humanizing your content for me, is a core part of my message as I believe the more this is done, the more that people start to like you, start to trust you and then ultimately will start to buy from you and recommend you to all their friends 🙂 It’s at the heart of what I do, and it is a true
‘Return on connection,’ or ‘humanizing your content… well could be seen at the Oscars recently with the mistake with the envelopes..It totally made all those involved much more human, and less robotic.. a blonde moment from an accountancy firm, accidentally mixing up those envelopes. It sprinkled a much-needed dosh of humanity for me, in what was quite a tense ceremony..
Then more recently that chap giving a serious political interview only to have his kids .. break into the room where he was live streaming, making it just utterly adorable in my mind.. and well millions of others… so much so that it has spun many, many parodies of it..
Now, to my ten tips below, to help you to humanize your content – be it a blog post, a tweet, a facebook page… anything really..yup even an email.. a letter, a book.. whatever really yup a conversation face-to-face too!!!
Why do I need to ‘humanize my content, ( or any communication Carrie? ) well, personally, I believe the buying starts to happens through connection, through human connection, even if we all feel like robots at times.. our human connection is what keeps us together and will continue to keep us together 🙂

Lovely post Carrie. It fits in well with a talk I went to on Sunday about empathy in content marketing. The lesson was that we need to empathise more with people and tell more stories in our content. Will share tomorrow.

Love the post, Carrie. Being more human is a good mantra to have when creating blog posts, it’s so easy to get too focused on the content and not thing how it comes across.
